AMY MAE BAXTER

Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Amy is an Assistant Editor at Hachette (Little, Brown, Dialogue, Virago) and is pleasantly surprised that other people seem to be as interested in Black, Asian, and marginalised community book reviews as she is. Her dream is that books by marginalised community writers will become so ubiquitous Bad Form is made redundant. She is unsure if that will ever be realised.

Please contact me about events, partnerships, advertising, and anything else Bad Form related!

SOPHIE MARIE NIANG

Sophie is a Black feminist writer and researcher whose work focuses on blackness in Europe, worldmaking and futurity. She is a proud believer in the beauty of books, the magic of food and the power of disco!

Morgan 1 smaller.jpg

MORGAN CORMACK

Having been asked “where are you really from” most of her life, Morgan hopes to one day publish a book around the nuances of the mixed-race experience. If she’s not working through her ever-growing book list, you can find her writing articles about social and political issues she cares deeply about.

Emma smaller.jpg

EMMA LUBEGA

Emma is an English grad currently living in South London, working as a Publicity Assistant at Penguin Press , and trying to never hear the phrase ‘diversity and inclusion’ again.

Since joining the few other brown English students in the Postcolonial seminar room and sharing what felt like a collective sigh of relief, she's been on the lookout for the rare spaces which can match such a precious vibe. Her dream is to one day recreate this in a UK-based Black and brown women’s ski club.

BILLI JONES

Editor

Billi is a Art graduate based in Kent and would best describe herself as a creative, in other words, she refuses to pick a favourite activity between writing, painting and drawing. Her goal is to create and exist within spaces where the voices of marginalised individuals are amplified and their experiences are recognised until the day that those spaces no longer need to exist. Aside from reading, writing and making art you can also find Billi playing games, tending to her excessive house plant collection or stopping her rabbits from eating said plants.

HARSHITA LALWANI

Newsletter Editor

Harshita is a Marketing and Sales Assistant at Chelsea Green Publishing currently living in North East London. Her interests include complaining about British weather, cooking Indian food on every possible occasion and exploring the city, one restaurant at a time. She writes the fortnightly Bad Form Beat newsletter that you can subscribe to at any time to read about bookish news affecting members of Black, Asian and other marginalised communities.

She is vociferous about her views on colonialism, the exoticisation of her culture and the overuse of the word ‘Namaste'. She also enjoys farmer's markets, reading in parks and watching Brooklyn 99 once every three months.

ANIKÉ WILDMAN

Editor

A lover of books, films and music Aniké is excited by the person and process behind the story. Having spent two years in publishing, she is passionate about helping young creatives chisel out a space for themselves in the industry. With mentorship schemes and workshops on her agenda, Aniké joined Bad Form as Development Editor in 2021. She is currently a tech recruitment consultant and may or may not be working on a novel of her own.
